Camping Sites Reservation Information

Filed under: Chat Forums about Sports, Outdoors, Society and Sports, Sports, Sports Products — Tags: — Kosmik @ 11:40 am

Camping is a great activity for me and my family. A lot of people like to find good camping sites as early in the year as they can. It’s important to ask a few questions when calling a place to reserve a camping site, as not all of these places are suitable, and each site will have something different to offer.
Some common questions that anyone should ask about camping sites is how much shade may or may not be there, and if there are any extras that might end up being very important. Some places have running water and electricity (great for coffee!), and these are wonderful, but not all of the sites on the camping grounds will have this. Before you reserve the camping site they are offering to you, just make sure you ask the right questions.

All About Dartboards for Your Home

Filed under: Amateur Sports, Chat Forums about Sports, College Sports, Professional Sports, Sports on TV — dsprake@googlemail.com @ 5:59 am

Sports can be fun - wouldn’t everyone like to bring sports into their home! well now you can, in the shape of a dartboard. Needless to say, you will want plenty of space and it mounted preferably on a wall where you won’t have a lot of traffic walking by. You will also want to look at various dartboards to see what will work with your decorating theme (if that matters) and with your budget. You might want to buy a Halex electronic dartboard, though these can get slightly pricey for some people. To help hide the evidence of a bar, a dartboard cabinet is a great way to close down at the end of the night – especially when the room is dual purpose. Please see the following website for additional information http://www.dartboard.info/

Adventure Sports

Filed under: Amateur Sports, Chat Forums about Sports, Extreme Sports, Sports — 21underground @ 10:22 am

My view on adventure sports:
I am not very brave. I don’t like heights, fast speeds or defying gravity. I much prefer my feet to be planted firmly on the ground. The only vaguely exciting activity I have ever done is downhill skiing, which I loved. Adventure sports are not really for me but I wish I could get over my inhibitions and go for it. I am an armchair sportswoman; content to watch other people take crazy risks.

More On Scooters

Filed under: Amateur Sports, Chat Forums about Sports, Outdoors, Racing, Sports — donbruce @ 7:47 am

Actually, many models of mobility scooters today break down into individual, lightweight parts, allowing you to put the scooter in the car or in the back of your min-van or SUV. Even though the folding mobility scooter breaks down small enough where you can store it in your car, many models are sturdy enough to carry up to 300 pounds.

Martial Arts Exercise and Children

Filed under: Chat Forums about Sports, Exercise Fitness, Martial Arts, News and Views, Sports — masterjones@kungfutemple.com @ 12:27 pm

Martial arts are exercises that children, adolescents, adults and even older adults can practice regularly - it is an activity that can continue through life. Unlike “pickle ball” or the “shuttle run”, school children won’t outgrow the ability or desire to practice martial arts as they get older. It is a lifestyle rather than an exercise.

The Jack Long series

No 1 In the JacK Long series of articles on golf.

We learned in the May 24, 2005 edition of The New York Times that advances in technology have not resulted in lowered average scores for golfers.

We have golf equipment such as, over-size drivers, irons made of space-age materials for lightness, highly engineered putters, better golf tees, unlimited opportunities for instruction, cable TV channels devoted entirely to golf, and so on and so forth.

However,  “The average 18-hole score for the average golfer remains about 100, as it has for decades, according to the National Golf Foundation, an industry research and consulting service.

The Golf Swing

An article on the golf swing

Watch the PGA Tour and you’ll see professional golfers get upset with shots you would kill to make consistently. Occasionally, you’ll see them hit one into the netherworld and somehow escape with par or bogie.

How do they do it?

It’s the biggest difference between professional golfers and amateur golfers. When a pro goes to the driving range, he’s there to warm up, check how his swing feels and maybe make some minor tweaks to adapt his shots to the course conditions.

An amateur is trying to find his golf swing. Once he’s found his golf swing, his battle will be to keep it working and pray that it doesn’t disappear once he’s out on the golf course.

The Carb Diet - The Do’s and Dont’s

Many of the longest lasting diet crazes in recent years have been carb diets. Atkins was probably the most popular, but South Beach and others have gained in popularity. While these are not as popular as they once were, they are still used by many dieters.

Induction Destruction: The Perils Of Diving Into Strict Diets Head First

One thing that almost all mainstream popular diets have in common is an “induction phaseâ€? (or the equivalent). This is often done under the scientific-sounding labels of “making the metabolic switchâ€? from “carb burnerâ€? to “fat burner.â€? However, “induction” is simply a politically correct way to say you have to crash diet and starve yourself in the beginning… which is a one way ticket to eventual weight regain and metabolic destruction!
