Ice Hockey

Filed under: Hockey, Professional Sports, Sports — Author @ 3:40 pm

The game of ice hockey can get fierce and dangerous because you can get checked across the ice and even get into a fight and the refs allow it. Ice hockey is unlike any other winter sport. You glide across the ice on a pair of ice skates and try to hit a black puck that is heavy into a net. Men and women play ice hockey along with teens and kids.

Bring the fast paced excitement of an air hockey table into your home

Filed under: Amateur Sports, Hockey, Sports, Sports Games — Author @ 1:59 pm

A mallet (sometimes called a goalie, striker or paddle) consists of a simple handle attached to a flat surface that will usually lie flush with the surface of the table. Four-player tables also exist, but they are not yet sanctioned for competitive play. If the puck leaves the table, a foul is called on the player that caused the puck to go out of play due to offensive motion and the opposing player gets possession of the puck.

Adults love to play this game as well. If you’re a bachelor, this would be perfect for you when your buddies come over for either a quiet, relaxing evening or preparing for a big night out on the town. An air hockey table is smaller than a billiards table which saves more room but they are just as energetic, if not more. Don’t be surprised if your guests are lining up to play once they see how much fun it really is.

Building Your Own Backyard Ice Rink

Filed under: Amateur Sports, Hockey, Outdoors, Skating, Sports Products — Author @ 12:49 pm

It is a shame that the winters aren’t like they used to be. Two years ago, for the first time in memory, the  backyard ice rink did not work. We set it up on one of the coldest days of the year, and it looked like it was going to freeze solid. Just as it was getting there, the weather suddenly changed and all of the ice melted. Rather than having a  backyard ice skating rink, we had a backyard pool that winter.

Discover The Well Kept Secrets Of How To Become A Hockey Drill Pro And Be Your Team’s Star!

Filed under: Hockey, Sports — Author @ 5:01 am

Hi, Pal!

Today thousands of boys are playing hockey. And you can bet that not one of these boys has to be coaxed to play, for hockey is an exciting and challenging game. It is so exciting that it can pull boys out of bed early on cold, frosty mornings, lead them to a wind-whipped, ice-covered rink, and keep them on the ice for hours at a time.

Not many years ago I was one of these boys. From the first time I donned skates at the age of four, I spent every spare minute playing hockey. Even now after nearly six years as a professional hockey player I still find the game exciting. And you will, too, if you have the desire and the determination to learn to play hockey as it should be played.

Desire and determination are of prime importance in becoming a good hockey player. Often you can overcome a lack of ability with sheer determination. During my career I encountered many hardships, but, because I was determined to play professional hockey, I overcame these obstacles and finally reached my goal.

Along with desire and determination, you must have a willingness to work if you are to succeed in hockey. You must work to get yourself in shape physically, for conditioning is 75 to 80 per cent of hockey. Hockey is a strenuous game and you must live well to play well.

Athletic Tape

Filed under: Amateur Sports, Baseball, College Sports, Football, Hockey — Author @ 2:22 pm

Some athletes believe that with tape or cortisone shots they can patch up these injuries and get back in the game, but to do so risks serious and permanent injury.  Chronic arthritis at age forty isn't worth playing one more game in high school, college, or even professional sports.  So how can athletic tape help athletes?  Not with serious, chronic injuries but with smaller injuries which won't end an athletic career but may make it more uncomfortable for a time.
