Great Golf Shoes

Filed under: Amateur Sports, Golf, Outdoors, Running Walking, Sports — Author @ 11:05 pm

First thing to consider is how you play golf as an individual. The way you play is something that should greatly affect the type of shoes you decide will be best for you. If, for instance, you tend to walk when you play, you will likely use a little different type of shoe than will someone who often rents a cart to play. Likewise, if you are the type of player that likes to rent a cart, take that into consideration as you seek out your golf shoes.

Marathon Training

Filed under: Exercise Fitness, Running Walking — Author @ 10:08 pm

Elliptical and Treadmill Workout Differences

Filed under: Exercise Fitness, Running Walking — Author @ 12:58 am
We all know why we want to lose weight. But, do we all know that a primary goal of any exercise routine is to get your heart rate into a target zone and keep it there for a period of time. The target zone is calculated by first obtaining your maximum heart rate by subtracting your age in years from 220. Your target heart rate is then 60% to 80% of the maximum heart rate. Because this is so critical, many treadmills will come with a heart rate monitor to display the heart rate on the machine. If your treadmill does have this capability, you can purchase an inexpensive heart rate monitor from most department stores, health stores or online…

What is ‘Interval Training’?

exerpt from an article about interval training

Are you in an exercise rut? Do you want to kick your fitness level up a notch and increase your endurance? Would you like to add more intensity to you workout? Interval training is a good way to achieve all of these goals in a safe and systematic manner.Interval training is simply a matter of alternating high intensity exercise and low intensity exercise. It allows one to get the benefits of the high intensity work while giving the body some rest time. It allows one to extend a workout time period and build endurance gradually.Running on a flat surface burns calories and gives your heart and lungs a great cardiovascular workout. Running up hill challenges your muscles, heart, and lungs, burning more calories and providing additional toning. But taking a 30 minute run up hill or on a steeply inclined treadmill would quickly exhaust most of us, or likely force us to stop early.

An article about abdominal exercise

Abdominal exercise is an important component in your overall workout routine. Everyone, myself included, wants to have a lean, tight midsection. You may not care to have a “six-packâ€? or even a “four-pack” but you do still want to have a slim or whittled waistline. It is the first place I’d look to determine a persons overall fitness level. Many people find that earning that flat tummy is quite a challenge… but with the right abdominal exercises, it can be accomplished.

fractions of a second off of their mile or 1500 meter time.

For The Love Of Exercise

Filed under: Exercise Fitness, Outdoors, Running Walking, Sports — Author @ 12:28 pm

The most challenging exercise I’ve ever done was mountain climbing which I ventured with a group of die-hard mountaineers 12 or 15 years ago. I was in my forties and a lot more agile then. Not only was the climb extremely difficult work – the human body wasn’t really designed for scaling a vertical rock face – but the thin air made it almost intolerable for my lungs. For the first few days up in the mountains, I felt like I couldn’t get enough oxygen. I was so dizzy and light headed. But I stuck through with it. And I vowed then I would never climb a mountain again.

New Balance Factory Outlet for Great Shoes and No BS

Filed under: Exercise Fitness, Outdoors, Running Walking, Sports, Sports Products, Tennis — Author @ 4:33 pm

My feet are large, flat, and square – 13 triple wide to be precise. If the floor is wet, my right foot actually suction cups to it. Before I discovered the New Balance factory outlet, going to the shoe store was emotionally painful experience, where I would have to spend hours to just find the one over-priced shoe which kind of fit my foot. After discovering the New Balance factory outlet, the pain decreased as, at any one time, they have had at least half a dozen shoes in my size and style (medium top cross trainers) which fit my feet just right.

Why Do You Run?

Filed under: Amateur Sports, Exercise Fitness, Running Walking, Sports — Author @ 11:52 am

It is a simple question from a seven year old that starts me on a life review. Why do you run? she asks when I stop for lemonade at her make-shift stand, the one sporting a sign that warms my heart: lemonaid 10 cents.

But I can’t answer her. For several seconds, I sip at the cup and smile at her sun-freckled nose.

“Why? she asks again.

“It makes me feel good, I reply, tossing the paper cup into the garbage pail, glad that I can slip away without saying more. Her question unsettles me though. The answer I have so glibly thrown at her does not seem to ring true.

Fitness Walking - Exercise of Convenience and Versatility

Filed under: Exercise Fitness, Running Walking, Sports — Author @ 5:16 pm

Fitness walking is a great way to lose weight, especially because it’s so available. If you want to go swimming you have to go to a pool, change clothes, swim, change again, and go home or to work, but if you’re taking part in fitness walking all you have to do is walk out the door of your office. Fitness walking is also an attractive exercise choice because it’s low-impact and virtually injury-free, and serves as a nice warm up for running or jogging. It’s also easy to incorporate into any schedule, since if you walk fifteen minutes to work every morning and fifteen minutes back every evening you’ve already taken care of your exercise for the day, which will help you lose weight and stay healthy.
