Landscape of the sports industry: Sports Marketing Products and Services

Abstract: This paper represents a theoretical literature review on sports marketing and argues the discipline should primarily be recast in modern industrial terms. Using an economic production theory analysis, the paper identifies operational and transactional parallels that undergird both sports and other systems of economic productivity. The main analysis is for business separation of products made in game with products used in other sporting exercises. The analysis concludes by specifying the core sports industry products, separating out complementary products that were erroneously considered as sports products.
