Abstract:The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of varied intensity of resistance training on selected, leg strength and thigh girth. To achieve the purpose of the study, 15 untrained students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Annamalai University were selected at random as subjects from volunteers, in the age group of 18 to 20 years. The selected subjects neither have the experience of organized fitness training nor participating in any other special coaching programme.
The subjects were randomly assigned of 15 each. underwent diverse intensity resistance training and control group, To examine the effect of diverse intensity resistance training on leg strength and thigh girth, analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was computed. In determining the level of significance 0.05 was fixed. The finding of the study shows that significant difference existed between control and experimental groups on leg strength and thigh girth.
