Comperative analysis of body composition and physical dimension of female students belonging to different professional institutions

Abstract:
The present study measured the different physical dimension and body composition of the students studying in the different professional institution based in Kolkata of West Bengal state. The purpose was an attempt to find out the differences between the parameters selected in this study. Total 48 female students (N =48) out of which 20 students from Polytechnique Institute, 16 students from Institute of Education for Women and rest 12 students from Sate Institute of Physical Education for Women respectively were selected as subject for this study. The criterion measures chosen for this study were standing height, weight, body composition (percentage of fat of subjects) and body density. To find out the level of fat among the subjects of respective institutions, percentage was calculated and to find out the mean difference of the selected parameters ‘t’ ratio was employed. The level of significance was set at 0.05 level. The result of this study showed that, no significant difference was observed in physical dimension but significant difference was found in case of body fat percentage of different professional institutions.
