Abstract:
Comparing the biorhythm variation in reaction time among Chandur Railway football players was the aim of the study. Thirty male football players from different teams in Chandur Railway, Amravati, who have competed in state-level competitions, have been chosen for this study. Players were recruited using purposive sampling approach. The football players were between the ages of 18 and 25. In addition to not using any ergogenic aids or supplements, the football players were all injury-free at the time of data collection. The following times of day were used to gather the required data: morning (6 am to 7 am), afternoon (12 to 01 pm) and evening (6 pm to 7 pm). The ruler drop test was used to gauge the performance of reaction time. ANOVA and LSD Post-hoc test was applied. As computed ‘f’ value 5.807 is higher than the tab ‘f’ 0.05 (2,87) = 3.101, the above table indicates that there is a considerable difference in reaction time throughout the day at various times. In conclusion the biorhythm variation of reaction time of footballers was found significant. The performance of reaction time of footballers at evening time is better than afternoon time followed by morning time. The circadian rhythm and variables like sleep deprivation and awareness levels may be the reason why reaction times are typically slower in the morning and at night and faster during the day.
