Impact of rear foot motion technique in running

Abstract:
The foot strike patterns of runners have garnered significant interest over the last ten years, especially regarding the distinctions between rear foot strikes forefoot strikes. Good running technique helps to save the energy as well as in contributes to the sprint and long distance running style. Two 100 m. and two 5000 m. runners age range 18-25 years were selected for this study and all they were the student of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligah and also have experienced of All India Athletic meet. All subjects were performed over the grass track. Subject’s running technique was captured using a Canon Legria HSF-10 camcorder. The shutter speed of camera's was 1/1000s to avoid blur effect, sampling rate of camera was set at 25 frames per second. To measure RFM which including RFA, LATO and HATPO and HAL. The camera was mounted on tripod and 2 m behind the starting line of a 100m sprint. Silicon Coach Pro8, SPSS, and Microsoft Excel were employed for data analysis. Student’s t-test was used to compare the means of rear foot motion for both types of running, with a significance level set at 0.05%.
