Investigation and performance analysis of kayaking athlete using accelerometer sensor
Author(s): Amandeep Singh and Gurpreet Singh
Abstract:
This study investigates the biomechanical performance of a kayaking athlete during two 500-meter runs using data from a 3-axis accelerometer. The primary objective is to quantify stroke consistency, stability, and energy efficiency through detailed statistical analysis. The accelerometer captures longitudinal, lateral, and vertical motions, which are processed and interpreted to offer actionable training recommendations. The study not only demonstrates the benefits of accelerometer-based monitoring such as real-time feedback and quantifiable metrics but also discusses its limitations including sensor noise and environmental influences. The findings are contextualized within recent advancements in wearable sensor technology and sports performance analytics.
