Abstract: The study aims to develop a training program utilizing the reverse pyramid approach to enhance cardiorespiratory fitness and improve 800 m running performance among middle-distance athletes. An experimental design was employed with a single group drawn from Muthanna Governorate's middle-distance runners. Participants were randomly selected from those competing in 800 m, 1500 m, and 3000 m events. Cardiorespiratory fitness was assessed, and an 800-meter run was conducted. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS. Results indicated that the training curriculum effectively improved both cardiorespiratory fitness and 800 m running performance. The researcher recommends that coaches and assistants be educated on the reverse pyramid training method and its scientific basis for effective training planning.
