Abstract:The objective of the
present investigation was to examine the impact of plyometric work outs on specific skill as well as physical fitness variables among male
Volleyball male players affiliated with a club. To fulfill this goal, a total
of sixty male players at the school level, who had not undergone any formal
training but were allowed to actively participate in regular physical
activities during the 2023-24 period were selected as subjects. Tamil Nadu,
India, representing the population under study and the age range of the
respondents from 16 to 18 years.
For this study, a pre and
post-test random group design was employed, involving the random selection of
60 male volleyball players. Each group comprised thirty participants. The
subjects were separated equally in to two groups: namely Group-A (PTG), which underwent
plyometric training with specific skill practices and games (n = 30), and
Group-B (CG), the CG controlled Group and in this group they did not receive
any training but was permitted to engage within regular physical activities (n =
30). The training sessions occurred six days a week for duration of twelve
weeks.
