Execution of defensive and offensive skills of state-level kabaddi players of Kuvempu University: A comparative study

Abstract:
The present study aimed
to compare the execution of defensive and offensive skills among state-level
kabaddi players from Kuvempu University, specifically from Chikkamagaluru and
Shivamogga districts. Sixty male kabaddi players aged between 18 to 27 years
participated in the study. Data were collected using standard kabaddi skill
tests, including footwork, raiding skills, foot touch reach, raiding footwork,
toe touch, defensive footwork, breath-holding capacity, hopping, and shuttle
run tests. Statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS software. Significant
differences were observed in raiding skills, foot touch reach, toe touch, and
shuttle run, whereas no significant differences were found in footwork,
defensive footwork, breath-holding capacity, and hopping tests.
