The effect of anaerobic phosphagen training on the concentration of some functional liver enzymes in blood serum and the performance of advanced (100) meter runners
Author(s): Abdullah Bahr Fayyad
Abstract:
The research aimed to find the effect of high-intensity exercises according to the anaerobic phosphagen energy system on the concentration level of some liver enzymes and (100) meter runner performance in the advanced group. The problem of the research was emphasized through the author’s observation of weakness in speed constituent in runners, particularly at the end of the race. This prompted the author to study this condition by implementing anaerobic phosphagen exercises characterized by high intensity to improve performance, as well as studying the changes that occur in the concentration levels of some liver enzymes after performing high-intensity physical effort, which requires rapid reactions to produce the energy needed for performing those exercises and athletic competitions at the best level, as in imbalance in the concentrations of liver enzymes leads to weak energy production, which negatively affects the performance of runners. The experiment was applied to (5) runners representing the Anbar governorate team for the advanced category in the (100) meter running activity. The researcher concluded that the anaerobic phosphagen training led to the development of achievement among the research sample, as well as an increase in the concentration of the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme and the transaminases (GOT, GPT) enzymes in the blood serum. The researcher recommended using the suggested exercises to develop the performance of a runner (100) meters, and monitoring the concentration levels of liver enzymes, due to their importance in the energy production processes necessary to perform exercises that are characterized by maximum intensity.
