Rhythmic gymnastics requires more objective methods for evaluation, as most existing tests focus separately on physical skills or rules aspects. A review of scientific books and studies revealed the absence of a comprehensive test covering all skill performance requirements. Accordingly, this study aimed to design and standardize a test to assess the knowledge required for hoop skill performance in rhythmic gymnastics, integrating both skill and rules knowledge. The importance of the research lies in identifying correlational relationships among knowledge, skill, and rules variables and determining their contribution ratios. A descriptive correlational approach was employed. The research sample consisted of intentionally selected second-year female students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences during the 2024-2025 academic year. Fifty-five statements were constructed in multiple-choice format, and fifty-two were approved by experts. Exploratory and main experiments were conducted, and the test was analyzed for difficulty, discrimination, and scientific validity using appropriate statistical methods.
The researchers reached the following conclusions:
· A skill-based knowledge test was developed and standardized specifically for second-year female students.
· Standards were established for assessing the skill-based knowledge of female students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Kirkuk.
· Levels were determined for evaluating the skill-based knowledge of female students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Kirkuk.
The key recommendations were:
1. Implement standardized and structured tests as scientific research tools to assess cognitive and skill achievement.
2. Conduct similar studies that incorporate psychological, mental, and technological variables and connect them to knowledge and skill outcomes.
Enhance the focus of educators (teachers or coaches) on the knowledge aspect, as it serves as the foundation that equips students or athletes with the necessary tools to achieve their goals.
